• According to Palin there are 12 million illegal
immigrants in the US and deporting them is not possible
economically as well as it is not a humane way of dealing with
the issue. They should be made to follow rules and made to
understand that legal immigrants should have the first preference
of opportunities provided by this great country. If they follow
the rules they can be treated fairly and equally in the country.

• Not having expressed her views on illegal immigration
often, Sarah supports citizenship for illegal immigrants but
feels there is no amnesty for the illegal immigrants. Priority
should be given to the legal immigrants before granting
opportunities to the illegal ones.

• She has reached out to the illegal immigrants requesting
their needs. She feels that they require more vocational
training, the end of gang violence, assistance to seniors and
mostly outreach and communication within their communities.
Palin insists on a diversity task force.

• Illegal immigrants in Alaska are at loggerheads over
obtaining driver's licenses before Palin was elected Governor.
The state Senate then approved a Bill banning licenses to
illegals tightening the requirements for obtaining a license only
if they prove their legal identity. This has affected the illegal
immigrants in Alaska severely.

• Sarah Palin has stated that she is sick to death about
the immigration nonsense and has not expressed her views often on
illegal immigration. She feels that the new administration needs
of Alaska should be energetically started early to enable a
co-operative relationship with Canada.

• Obama wants to have a crack down on employers hiring
illegal immigrants by arranging stronger enforcement at the
workplace and at the borderline. His idea is to stop the flow of
more immigrants while being kind to the illegal immigrants
already living in the U.S.

• Obama feels that by increasing the legal fees on
immigrants is discriminating against people with good character
who don?t have the money to pay for immigration. Instead it
would be good to improve the Mexican relationship with the
government and use their economy to produce jobs on the other
side of the border.

• He feels that it is impractical to deport the 12 million
illegal immigrants to their countries, but instead it would be
better to get them from living in the shadows to the open through
the Dream Act by which children of these immigrants, who for no
fault of their own, have been born and brought up as Americans,
could gain higher education. He says there should be no two
classes of citizens in the country.

• If every student is allowed to study a second language,
English being the main language. English speaking children
should be encouraged to study foreign languages because the world
is interdependent and bilingual education would help Americans to
communication across boundaries.

• Obama plans to improve the immigration system by fixing
the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy; bring immigrants out
of the shadows by allowing those who are in good standing to pay
a fine, learn English and apply for citizenship; work with
Mexico to promote economic development which will decrease
illegal immigration further.
