• In August 2008 she strongly opposed the embryonic stem
cell research. She said, "My personal opinion is we should not
create human life, create an embryo and then destroy it for
research, if there are options out there."

• She once wrote, "I believe that no matter what mistakes
we make as a society, we cannot condone ending an innocent's
life."

• Sarah Palin was opposed to abortion whatever the case,
except if the life of the mother was at stake. When talking of
rape victims she said "I would counsel to choose life, and
persuade them to choose life for their babies."

• She was of the opinion that Roe v. Wade should
definitely be reversed and the decision should be given to the
respective states.

• In reply to one of the questions from Kate Couric of CBS
news, she stated "I am pro-life and I am unapologetic in my
position that I am pro-life."

• When asked by Couric what the governor thought about the
morning after pill she is stated to have said, "I am all for
contraception. And I am all for preventive measures that are
legal and safe and should be taken, but I am one to believe that
life starts at the moment of conception. And I would like to see
fewer and fewer abortions in this world."

• Sarah Palin was strongly against sex education programs
that do not embrace abstinence, and said that she does not agree
to the distribution of contraceptives in schools using the
dollars paid by taxpayers. 
		

• In 1997 Obama opposed the bill preventing partial-birth
abortion. He has consistently voted to increase embryonic stem
cell research.

• On being asked whether he believed that life begins at
conception Obama replied "I don't presume to know the answer to
that question. What I know is that there is something
extraordinarily powerful about potential life."

• Obama believes that contraception has be a topic in the
education syllabus, which could result in reducing abortions. As
stated by Democratic Compassion Forum at Messiah College on 13th
April 2008.

• Barack Obama strongly supported the 1973 Roe v Wade
decision regarding abortion rights stating that a woman had the
right to terminate pregnancy if she was legally right and if
abortion procedures were as per what Roe defined. 

• Obama has been an unswerving defender of reproductive
choice, and also stands up for expanded access to contraception
to decrease accidental pregnancies. 

• Obama feels that he "can trust women to make decisions
in conjunction with their doctors, their families and their
clergy. Reducing teen pregnancy; making it less likely for women
to find themselves in these circumstances."

• He voted against the prohibition of minors crossing
state lines for abortion. 

• In March 2001, he opposed a legislation protecting
born-alive failed abortions. He insisted that there should be no
restrictions whatsoever on a mother's right to decide to abort
the child.
